As many of you know, I honed my skills as a headshot photographer under the guidance of Peter Hurley. Peter is considered one of the best headshot photographers in the world, and to be 100% honest with you, he is just a really great guy. I have the honor of being Kentucky’s first associate photographer and only mentor in his training program, the Headshots Crew.  

February 19th – February 22nd, 2017, Peter will be hosting an event called Headshotmania. It will be at the Morongo Resort & Casino in beautiful Palm Springs, California. This is going to be a three-day extravaganza of classes, open shooting, and networking with some of the best headshot photographers in the world.  You can even schedule one-on-one time with Peter to talk about your portfolio or your business!

Classes will be taught by mentors of the Headshot Crew including a couple by yours truly! We will teach lighting and direction as well as classes on kicking your business into the next gear and putting money in your pocket. There will be classes on more than headshots as well!

One of the things that makes these classes so special is each of the mentors brings a different set of knowledge and skills to the table.  All of us run successful businesses in different markets. You will have the opportunity to sit and pick our brains to find out when we had to do, and what we still do for our businesses to operate.

After classes each day, there will be open shooting, so bring your camera!  You will have the opportunity to put what you learned during the day into practice and we will be there to help!

Finally, one of the other huge benefits of events like this is the networking.  I cannot even begin to put into words what having my friends in the Headshot Crew has done for me. Community is huge. Meeting your peers from around the world will fire you up in ways you can’t even imagine.

The day after Headshotmania, we will hop on buses and head straight to Las Vegas for WPPI. Just be sure to let us know if you are riding with us so we book enough buses!
